The overall percentage of Bahasa Inggeris PMR 2006 is 65.88% which showed an increment of 7.59% compared to 2005. The percentage of students who managed to get A also showed an increment of 5.51% that is 15 candidates managed to get A compared to only 3 candidates in the year 2005. More than 50.00% of the failure came from Form 3A5 and 3A6. Only 10 students from a total of 62 students for both classes managed to pass the paper. Another 12 candidates from 3A4, 6 candidates from 3A3 and 3 candidates from 3A2 failed the paper.

STRATEGIES TO EXCEL IN THE BAHASA INGGERIS PMR 2007

1. Finished the form three syllabuses, especially the literature component before June.

2. To do revision on grammar and sentence structures in January.

3. Extra classes should start as early as February.

4. Revision on literature component for form one and two (poem and short story) should be done during the extra classes.

5. Technique of answering questions should be exposed earlier to form three as well as form one and two students so as to familiar them with the correct technique of answering questions.

6. Expose and teach the form three students with journal writing. Teacher should guide them with prompt questions for their journal.

7. Teacher should do more exercise on writing. Expose students with different types of essay.

8. To increase the percentage of A and B , all the potential students will be grouped into intensive class which will be held during night classes.

9. Teachers should check the notes and exercise books frequently.

10. A workshop on technique of answering questions will be held in June.

11. Intensive test, using the trial exam questions from other states will be held after the trial exam.

POST MORTEM OF THE BAHASA INGGERIS 1119 SPM 2006

The overall percentage of Bahasa Inggeris 1119 SPM 2006 is 50% which showed a decrease of 6.34% compared to 2005. The percentage of students who managed to get A1 and A2 was also decrease by 2.32%. Out of 154 candidates in 2006, 32 candidates managed to get credit in the subject compared to 23 candidates in the year 2005. This showed an increment of 8.54%. 80.00% of the failure came from Form 5A2 and 5A3. Only 8 students from a total of 71 students for both classes managed to pass the paper. Another 13 candidates from 5A1 and 1 candidate from 5S2 failed the paper.

POST MORTEM OF THE ENGLISH IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

(EST) 6355 SPM 2006.

The overall percentage of EST SPM 2006 is 97.83% which showed a decrease of 2.17% compared to 2005. One candidate had failed the paper whereas in the year 2005 there was no failure. From a number of 46 candidates, only one candidate managed to get A2. A total 20 students that is 43.48% managed to get 5C and another 10 students or 21.74% managed to get 6C.The number of students who got 8E was also reduced, from 7 candidates in the year 2005 to only one candidate in 2006. The result showed a great number of increments in the number of candidates who managed to get credit for the paper compared to 2005.

STRATEGIES TO EXCEL IN EST SPM 2007

1. Early exposure to the technique of answering questions.

2. Students are weak in presenting a good report or essay writing, so teacher should focus more on report writing.

3. Workshop on technique of answering questions will be held in June.

4. Practice on past years questions will be done during the extra classes in the afternoon.

5. Note books and exercise books should be checked regularly.

6. Potential A students will be given intensive class during night classes.

7. Intensive test will be held after the trial exam. Questions will be taken from the trial exam from other states.
